September
22, 2005 - PCS UtiliData and Power City Electric of Spokane, Washington,
acting as the Prime Contractor, have been awarded a contract to provide
Hydro Ottawa Limited of Ontario, Canada an AdaptiVolt™ automated voltage
control system for a pilot installation at their Centrepointe Substation.
This contract was awarded through the VoltR Energy Technologies sales and
marketing channel.
The AdaptiVolt™ system
technology couples real-time measurement of voltage at critical points
within the distribution system with the ability to adjust substation voltage
levels within pre-established parameters. Consequently, this technology will
allow Hydro Ottawa to improve the regulation of voltage levels, reduce
distribution system line losses and improve customer end-use efficiency
through automated voltage management.
Hydro Ottawa Limited, a wholly
owned subsidiary of Hydro Ottawa Holding Inc., is the local electricity
distribution company in the City of Ottawa. As the second largest municipal
electricity distribution company in the province of Ontario, Hydro Ottawa is
responsible for the safe, reliable delivery of electricity to more than
275,000 residential and business customers.

September
14, 2005 - Kaua'i Island Utility Cooperative has awarded PCS UtiliData a
contract to provide the AdaptiVolt™
Infrastructure and Communication Propagation Surveys for its Lihue and Kapaa
substations. This contract was awarded through the VoltR marketing and sales
channel. The Infrastructure Survey provides a detailed verification of
substation equipment and its distribution components to establish the work
required to deploy an AdaptiVolt™
system. The survey includes an analysis of end-of-line locations to
determine optimized voltage regulation levels and the determination of
expected energy savings and economic impact that would result from the
deployment of an AdaptiVolt™
system at the Lihue and Kapaa substations.
The Communication Propagation
Survey of the Lihue and Kapaa substations and the geographical region served
by its distribution infrastructure is aimed at ensuring the signal integrity
of the AdaptiVolt™ closed-loop feedback system. As such, it will identify
all requirements that will ensure a reliable, flexible and expandable
communications infrastructure to effectively support the AdaptiVolt™system
functionality.
May 27, 2005 - Hydro Ottawa
Limited has awarded PCS UtiliData a contract to provide an AdaptiVolt™
Infrastructure Survey for its Centrepointe Substation. This contract was
awarded through the VoltR marketing and sales channel. The Infrastructure
Survey comprises a detailed verification of substation equipment and its
distribution components to establish the work required to deploy an
AdaptiVolt™ system. The survey includes an analysis of end-of-line locations
to determine optimized voltage regulation levels, an examination of
potential location for capacitors to evaluate the costs and benefits of
their use, and the determination of expected energy savings and economic
impact that would result from the deployment of an AdaptiVolt™ system at the
Centrepointe substation.
MegaComm Industries of Toronto,
under a VoltR subcontract will conduct a Communications Propagation Survey
in coordination with the AdaptiVolt™ Infrastructure Survey. The
Communication Propagation Survey of the Centrepointe substation and the
geographical region served by its distribution infrastructure is aimed at
ensuring the signal integrity of the AdaptiVolt™ closed-loop feedback
system. As such, it will identify all requirements that will ensure a
reliable, flexible and expandable communications infrastructure to
effectively support the AdaptiVolt™ system functionality.
